A 45-year-old Guthrie man died Wednesday when his pickup truck was destroyed by fire, according to a report by FBI Special Agent Paul McCabe.
In a telephone interview from the Twin Cities, McCabe said the man was a logger.
McCabe said immediate family members have been notified, but the FBI is withholding the name of the deceased pending the results of the autopsy. However, a family member confirmed that the deceased is Daniel Rust of Guthrie. Kevin Cease of Cease Family Funeral Homes also confirmed that the deceased was Rust and the fire was apparently accidental.
Funeral arrangements for Rust are pending with the Cease Family Funeral Home.
The deceased was found in his still smoldering truck about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday about 25 yards off a logging trail on the western side of the Red Lake Reservation. He was found in the woods by another logger who reported the situation.

"The vehicle apparently had caught fire and burned with the victim inside it," said McCabe.
McCabe added that the deceased was an American Indian, but not an enrolled member of the Red Lake Nation.
"We're conducting a death investigation as always," McCabe said. "At this point, there are no indications of foul play."
