Gust Johnson, 91, of Coon Rapids, formerly of the Grygla/Fourtown area, died on Friday, April 13, 2007, at Park River Care Center in Coon Rapids, Minn.

Gust Johnson, 91, of Coon Rapids, formerly of the Grygla/Fourtown area, died on Friday, April 13, 2007, at Park River Care Center in Coon Rapids, Minn.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji with Rev. Bob Cleveland officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.

He was born on Nov. 8, 1915, to Hjalmer and Mabel (Sherman) Johnson, in Minnie Township, Beltrami County. He had a younger sister.

He and Hattie met when he worked in the Winner area.

They were married on April 16, 1939. They moved to the Fourtown area and farmed in Spruce Grove Township.

He worked for the state mowing grass for 15 years. He went full time in 1961 and retired in 1982. They moved to Grygla in 1968 but spent a lot of time at the farm.

He is survived by his daughter, Doris (Ernest) Beito of Motley, Minn.; son, Donald (Mary) Johnson of Anoka, Minn.; four grandchildren: and 10 great grandchildren; and one niece, one nephew and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one grandson; his parents; and sister, Gladys.
