Gladys Frances Dunning, 88, of Cass Lake, died on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at Cass Lake PHS Hospital.
A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cass Lake with speaker Rob Gaude officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Pike Bay Town Hall in rural Cass Lake. Burial will be in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake. The Cease Family Funeral Home in Cass Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1918, to Frank and Matilda (LaChapple) Vezina, in Poplar, Mont. Her family moved to Lengby when she was very young. She was placed at a young age in boarding school at the St. Mary's Mission Catholic School in Red Lake. She returned to her family and married Lynn Dunning in Lengby on Sept. 11, 1932. Together they had six children. Her family moved to Cass Lake around 1953.
She was a Jehovah's Witness all her life. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. All her grandchildren received one of her quilts.
She is survived by her son, Orian Dunning of Cass Lake; daughters, Phyllis Brogger of Cass Lake and Marlene Anderson of Cass Lake; sister, Iva Ord of Cass Lake; and 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Harry Dunning; daughters, Bonnie Edmand and Shirley Conner; brother, Jesse Vezina; and two grandchildren.
