George "Tiny" Knutson, 78, of Clearbrook, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital in Bagley.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook with Rev. Dan Bowman officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Clearbrook.

He was born on June 8, 1927, to Evend and Bertha (Olson) Knutson, near Warren, Minn. He grew up and attended school in the Warren area. He moved with family to a farm near Clearbrook. He married Shirley Fimreite on Jan. 26, 1952, in Shevlin. He worked at the Creamery in Clearbrook and on the Great Lakes for one season. He worked at the Reserve Mining Company in Silver Bay from 1957-1973. In 1973, the family moved back to Clearbrook and bought her parents farm. They farmed dairy and beef cattle.

He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Clearbrook, he was on the Greenwood Town Board for over 30 years and he was a member of the Moose Lodge in Silver Bay. He bowled on the Senior League in Bemidji every Tuesday morning. He enjoyed rifle and bow hunting, fishing, watching deer, working in the woods, farming and their knitting machine. He loved his family and his dog.

He is survived by his wife of Clearbrook; sons, Gary (Sharon) Knutson of Crosby, Minn., Randy (Kris) Knutson of Leon, Kan. and Kelly Knutson of Clearbrook; brother, Duane Knutson of Idaho; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Annie and Tillie; and brothers, Ted, Obin, Henry, Kenneth, Edwin, Clarence and Alvin.
