Gail Marie Norby Schriefels, 36, of Columbia Heights, Minn., and Redby, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Red Lake PHS Indian Hospital in Red Lake.

Gail Marie Norby Schriefels, 36, of Columbia Heights, Minn., and Redby, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Red Lake PHS Indian Hospital in Red Lake.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Redby Praise the Lord Church in Redby with Pastor Josephine Smith officiating. A wake began Wednesday afternoon at the Redby Community Center and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in the St. Antipas Episcopal Church Cemetery in Redby. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Donald "Dondo" Hobson, Darwin Johnson, Arnold "A.J." Maxwell Jr., David "Bones" Hobson, John "Jabe" Hobson and Larry "Monty" Lamont Jr. Alternates are Arnold Maxwell Sr. and James Smith Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cheryl Maxwell, Dana Maxwell, Danielle "Shorty" Maxwell, Peggy Maxwell, Eileen Lamont and Vicki Smith.

She was born Oct. 6, 1971, to Doreen Hobson Norby and Calvin Norby Sr. in Minneapolis. She was raised in both Minneapolis and Redby. She lived in California for some time. She married Richard "Rick" Schriefels. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and playing bingo, and spending time with her family. She was a very outgoing person.

She is survived by her daughter, Krystal Ness of Columbia Heights, Minn.; father of Riverton, Minn.; brothers, Calvin "Larry" (Stacy) Norby Jr. of Anoka, Minn., Wayne (Bobbi) Norby of Columbia Heights, Dean (Lisa) Norby of Hopkins, Minn.; sister, Glenda Norby of Columbia Heights; two aunts; two uncles; special friend, Darwin Johnson; two nephews; three nieces; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, Daniel and Doris Hobson; two uncles; and one aunt.
