BEMIDJI -- A presentation focusing on food sovereignty, the right to sustainably produced food that is both healthy and culturally acceptable, as it relates to eating on Thanksgiving will take place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the American Indian Resource Center on the BSU campus, 1500 Birchmont Drive NE.
“From Thanksgiving to Diabetes" will be presented by John Gonzalez, member of the White Earth Anishinaabe Nation and an associate professor of psychology at BSU, and Simone Senogles, food sovereignty program coordinator at the Indigenous Environmental Network. The lecture is sponsored by the Ebiyang and Bemidji Truth and Reconciliation.
