Florinne Fluey, 89, of Milaca, Minn., died on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Country Meadows Care Center.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Assembly of God Church in Milaca. An additional memorial service will be held at a later date in Kelliher.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1917, to Herman and Marie Meyenburg in Montevideo. In 1935, she graduated from Montevideo High School where she was active in many clubs. She married George Fluey and the couple resided and farmed in Kelliher. After the war, they made their home in Bemidji where he was employed as an engineer for the Great Northern Railroad.
She was an active member of the VFL Ladies Auxiliary Club, Bemidji Garden Club and Women's Study Club, and owned and managed "The Bunyan Mud Center" where she taught ceramic classes. She was a cook and baker, and used these skills to work in several restaurants and bakeries. She owned and operated the South Town Bakery in Montevideo.
She is survived by her step-children, James Fluey of Bovey, Minn., and Betty Halden of Scottsdale, Ariz.; children, Marilyn Komnick of Everett, Wash., Georgia Beckman of Puyullup, Wash., LeAna Person of Minneapolis, Yvonne Bunch of Richmond, Va., George Jr. of Kelliher and Kathy Warrington of Milaca; brother, Douglas of Wyoming; and 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Clem; and a sister-in-law.
