The round robin continues through Thursday with the top four teams advancing to the Page playoffs Friday.
For the first time the Junior meet will use the Page playoff system in which the top two teams meet in the first round with that winner advancing to the final.
The loser will go against the winner of the 3-4 finishers to gain the second berth in the final. The loser of that game is the bronze medalist.
The Sormunen rink is coached by Bemidji's Bob Fenson who also guided the men's Olympic team last winter skipped by his son Pete.
