RED LAKE-Authorities arrested five people and found more than 50 grams of a fentanyl-laced controlled substance, as well as approximately $10,000 in cash, during the execution of a warrant Monday at a residence in the Red Lake Nation.
Those arrested include Chloe May Cook, 20; Randy Travis Lussier, 29; Kristy Leigh Lussier, 30; Tony Edward May, 60; and Harlene Rose Spears, 56. They face charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful transportation of drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment. All those charged were transported to the Red Lake Detention Facility.
The residence was located in the Littlerock District, authorities said. As well as the drugs and cash, scales related to drug sales, drug paraphernalia and a hunting rifle also were seized. One child was located at the home.
According to the Red Lake Police Department, the search was the second in the past two weeks where authorities seized fentanyl-laced controlled substances. Additionally, the department posted in late March that fentanyl-laced opiates could have been responsible for a number of overdoses.
