Zamzow joins St. Mark's Lutheran

BEMIDJI-St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Bemidji welcomed Benjamin Zamzow as its new pastor in July.

Benjamin Zamzow

Zamzow grew up in Wisconsin and attended Antigo Public High School. He graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn., in 2014 and began studying at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary that fall.

He spent his pastoral internship in Grove City, Ohio, and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in May 2018 with a Master of Divinity degree.


Zamzow and his wife, Marina, have two children.

St. Theodore's Catholic Church plans Harvest Sale

LAPORTE-St. Theodore's Catholic Church will host a harvest sale and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. The meal will include soup, sandwiches, bars and coffee. The sale will include crafts, baked goods, and home canned goods, among others. The church is located at 580 County Road 39.

Immanuel Lutheran Church to host ham dinner

CASS LAKE-The Cass Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church will host a baked ham dinner with homemade potato salad, baked beans, dessert, and beverages from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23. The suggested donation is $9. Children 5 and younger are admitted for free. Immanuel Lutheran is located at 349 Third St. NE.

Bemidji All Pro Dads to host breakfast

BEMIDJI-Bemidji Area All Pro Dads will be hosting a Dad's Day Breakfast at 9 a.m., Saturday Sept. 29. The breakfast will be held in the social hall of St. Philip's Catholic Church, located at 702 Beltrami Ave. NW in Bemidji. This free event is open to all fathers, uncles, grandfathers and their children and will feature breakfast and a short activity.

Fall Festival in Kelliher

KELLIHER-Our Savior's Lutheran Church annual Fall Festival in Kelliher is set for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. Garden produce, baked goods, jams and jellies, lefse and flea market

treasures will be available for purchase. Lunch includes sloppy joes, soup, pie and coffee. Proceeds go to support local food programs, youth and elder activities and the Northwoods Caregivers. Our Savior's Lutheran Church is located at 249 Main St. E.

BLACKDUCK-Zion Lutheran Church in Blackduck will hold a Community Meal from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the church, 217 Main St.

NORTHOME-St. Michael Church on Northome will host a Fall Booya supper at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Northome Senior Center, 12081 Lake St. The supper includes hearty bowls of booya, homemade bread, pickles and dessert. Take-out is available.


Polka Mass and Chicken Dinner in Kelliher

KELLIHER-St. Patrick's Catholic Church's Polka Mass and Chicken Dinner will be held 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30. Mass will be at 10:15 a.m. Music by the Cathy Erickson Band. Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children ages 6 and older and free for children 5 and younger. There also will be a Farmers Market and Bake Sale. Trinity Free Lutheran Ham Dinner

WILTON-Trinity Free Lutheran Church, 6 miles north of U.S. Highway 2 on state Highway 89, will hold its annual Ham Supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. There will be a freewill offering.

Feast of Tabernacles at Mount Zion

BEMIDJI-Mount Zion Church and Becida Community Church of Bemidji invite everyone to a special time of worship, celebration and ministry during the Feast of Tabernacles, Friday, Sept. 28, and Saturday, Sept. 29.

On Friday evening and all day Saturday there will be a "Feast of Faith, Food, and Fellowship" at Mount Zion Church, 414 Lincoln Ave. SE in the Nymore neighborhood of Bemidji.

Guest speakers are Chuck Porta of Ram's Horn Ministries and Calvin Woods of Harvest Praise International. Main sessions are 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. On Saturday afternoon, there also will be several breakout sessions including "Prophetic Mysteries of the Feasts" with Reggie Kelly and outreach training by Revive Minnesota. Meatball dinner at Trinity on Oct. 7

BEMIDJI-The 16th annual Meatball Dinner and silent auction at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bemidji will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7.

The menu will be meatballs with all the trimmings, including squash and pie. Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children ages 6 and older and free from children age 5 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door. A silent auction to benefit TLC Preschool and Growing Tree Learning Center will also be held.
