Escaped Minnesota sex offender caught in Illinois

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - A predatory sex offender who cut off his GPS device and went missing from a Minneapolis halfway house was apprehended Thursday in Belleville, the Minnesota Department of Corrections said.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - A predatory sex offender who cut off his GPS device and went missing from a Minneapolis halfway house was apprehended Thursday in Belleville, the Minnesota Department of Corrections said.

Rico Ronondo Rodriguez, 34, was the subject of a national warrant since Oct. 26 . He was taken into custody without incident.

Rodriguez was sentenced to prison in 2003 for criminal sexual conduct against a known juvenile female. He was also sentenced to prison in 2012 for failure to register as a predatory offender.
