BEMIDJI -- Applications for emergency food and shelter funding will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 1.

Congress recently appropriated $23,025 to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs in Beltrami County, according to a press release from the United Way of Bemidji Area.

In each funded jurisdiction, a local board advertises the availability of the funds, establishes local priorities, selects local nonprofit and government agencies to receive supplemental funding and monitors program compliance, the release said.

Applications can be accessed at www.unitedwaybemidji.org . Click on “Emergency Food and Shelter Program” under “Our Work” on the website.

Completed applications must be submitted by Oct. 1 to: United Way of Bemidji Area, Attention: Emergency Food and Shelter Local Board, P.O. Box 27, Bemidji, MN 56619.
