'Snow Week' at Bemidji High School

BEMIDJI—Bemidji High School's annual Snow Week starts next week.

The festivities kick off on Tuesday, Feb. 20 with an all-day "color day," where freshmen can dress in red, sophomores in purple, junior in orange, seniors in black, and staff in "GO JACKS" blue and white. A coronation is scheduled for 9:46 a.m. in the school's main gym.

Wednesday, Feb. 21's theme is "vine/meme" day, where students are encouraged to dress as their favorite tasteful internet reference. Two musical showcases are scheduled that morning in the school auditorium, and co-ed power dodgeball is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the main gym.

Thursday, Feb. 22 is "throwback Thursday," where students and staff can dress as a younger version of themselves.

Friday, Feb. 23 is "Spirit Day." Students can dress in Lumberjack blue and white, and a pepfest and "Mr. BHS" contest is scheduled for 9:33 a.m. in the main gym.

Snow Week is a Bemidji High School Student Council production.

Joe Bowen covers education (mostly K-12) and American Indian affairs for the Bemidji Pioneer.

He's from Minneapolis, earned a degree from the College of St. Benedict - St. John's University in 2009, and worked at the Perham Focus near Detroit Lakes and Sun Newspapers in suburban Minneapolis before heading to the Pioneer.
