DEVILS LAKE, N.D. --The driver in a fatal boat crash on Devils Lake earlier this month has been charged with four felonies, including manslaughter.
Tom Burns, 54, of Grand Forks was driving the boat that struck a tree sticking out of the lake at about 2:45 a.m. Aug. 9.
April Stenger, 26, of Detroit Lakes, Minn., was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Burns and three others were transported to the hospital with injuries.
According to North Dakota's public court records website, the following charges were filed against Burns Wednesday: manslaughter, a class B felony, three counts of reckless endangerment, all class C felonies, and boating under the influence, a class B misdemeanor.
A warrant for Burns' arrest was issued Wednesday, according to the website.

After the Aug. 9 accident, Kyle Everson, 26, and Joel Kurtz Jr., 26, both of Devils Lake, and Danielle Brommenschenkel, 40, of Halstad, Minn., were all airlifted with injuries to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Burns was driven to the hospital with injuries.
An Altru spokeswoman said Wednesday Everson and Kurtz were still in critical condition, while Brommenschenkel had been released from the hospital.
