Dorothy M. Stephenson Busby, 88, of Minneapolis, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Walker Methodist Residence in Minneapolis.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Washburn-McReavy Davies Chapel in Minneapolis. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.

She was born on June 15, 1918, in Stone Lake, Wis. She moved to Bemidji with her family at age 1 and lived there until 1983, when she relocated to Minneapolis. She and her husband, Raymond (Steve) Stephenson raised three children and operated the Steve's Café and Steve's Grill restaurants on Beltrami Avenue for many years.

She was active in Bemidji United Methodist Church and the Masonic organization of Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem, where she and her husband held the top offices of Worthy High Priestess and Watchman of Shepherds.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy of Kamuela, Hawaii, and Rebecca (Hiro Kurashina) of Guam; son, James (Anita) of St. Paul, Minn.; brother, Robert (Helen) of Little Falls, Minn.; along with other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Clara Isaacson; infant brother; brother, Karl; and husbands, Raymond J. Stephenson and John Busby.
