The driver of the FedEx semi-truck/tractor trailer involved in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning has been identified as Robert Lloyd Breeze of Blackduck.
Nineteen-year-old Jennifer Ann Cartwright of Bemidji died following the accident, which was reported at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.
Cartwright pulled in front of the semi truck when she turned from Birchmont Beach Road Northeast with the intent of heading south on Bemidji Road North, said Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp. The FedEx truck struck Cartwright's vehicle on the driver's side.
Cartwright, the sole occupant of the passenger car, was taken to North Country Regional Hospital and later pronounced dead, the Sheriff's Office said. Breeze reported no injuries.
Responding to the crash site were the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Bemidji Fire Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer, Bemidji Ambulance Service and an off--duty paramedic/registered nurse who provided assistance at the scene.
