CROOKSTON, Minn. - A jury has found a Crookston man guilty of sexually assaulting two children several years ago in Climax, Minn.
After a four-day trial, jurors returned a guilty verdict Thursday afternoon in the case of Brett Allen Goulet, 34, who was charged with two first-degree felony counts of criminal sexual conduct. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
The charges came after a social worker interviewed two children in 2014, with both of them saying Goulet sexually assaulted them at night in 2010 or 2011 while living in Climax, according to court records. At the time of the crime, the children were both younger than 12 years old.
Goulet was charged in mid-November.
A sentencing hearing has been set for Dec. 20.
