Sheriff's Report

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls Thursday.

Drugs

3:16 a.m. A 27-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were arrested following a traffic stop on Highway 71 NW and Irvine Ave. NW. Driver arrested for controlled substance and passenger arrested on a warrant, no indication of which person was charged with what offense.

Accident

4:38 p.m. An accident involving a vehicle and a small black bear was reported on the 5600 block of Division Street W.

Weapons offense

10:06 p.m. A juvenile was warned for shooting a potato gun following a report of shots fired on the 4400 block of Cartway Road NW.

The Bemidji Police Department responded to the following calls Thursday.

Assault

2:04 a.m. A 21-year-old man was cited for fifth-degree assault on the 100 block of 3rd Street NW.

Accident

10:59 a.m. A 20-year-old man was cited following a vehicle collision on Pine Ridge Ave. NW and 23rd Street NW.

Animal

7:02 p.m. Bear sighting on Florence Lane NW in city limits. Officer advised homeowner not to approach the bear.

Theft

3:39 p.m. A 27-year-old was cited for shoplifting on the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive NW.

4:28 p.m. A 40-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman were cited for shoplifting on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Drive NW.

4:58 p.m. A 43-year-old man was cited for shoplifting on the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive NW.

8:23 p.m. A 35-year-old man was arrested on two warrants following a theft call on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Drive NW.
