UNDERWOOD, Minn. — A Minnesota man is facing indecent exposure charges after he was arrested for allegedly fishing on his pontoon in the nude.
Court documents say the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office was called to Turtle Lake in Underwood, Minn., at approximately 8:20 am on July 1 for a report of a man fishing on his pontoon in the nude. The caller told police the naked man was about 50 feet from their dock, standing up and in full view of their picture window.
Authorities say when they arrived, the man remained fully nude until he was approached and contact was made, after which he put on a pair of "...very small shorts".
The naked man was identified as Michael Blake, 59, of Brooklyn Center, who admitted to fishing while fully nude and was then taken into custody.
Court documents then say he told authorities he didn't think it would be a problem, since he didn't think anyone was in the area. Police say in the court documents that they could clearly see multiple homes from where he was, and the lake was commonly used by the public for recreational purposes.
The documents then go on to say that on June 4th and 5th, while a contractor was working on the driveway of a residence by Turtle Lake, Blake was spotted standing nude by a tree line on two separate occasions over two days.
The contractor told police that Blake approached him after he waved at him and asked "Can you spank me?" The contractor then drove off without calling police, documents say.
Blake is now facing three charges of indecent exposure/lewdness, which carries a maximum sentence of three years in jail.
He will have his initial court appearance July 15.
Blake was previously convicted of indecent exposure in 1995 and 2016.
