The following cases were heard July 31 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

Brock Robert Nelson-Long, 21, of International Falls was granted a statutory stay of adjudication for fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine and sentenced to 18 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail. Nelson-Long has been credited with 12 days time served. He has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion will result in a dismissal of the charge.

The following cases were heard Aug. 3 by Beltrami District Judge John G. Melbye:

Paul Able Pederson, 31, of Shevlin was convicted of felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI refusal. Pederson was sentenced to 90 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail for the fleeing charge, which may be done on sentence to serve if eligible. He has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion will result in a misdemeanor conviction. Pederson must pay a $1,000 fine. Pederson was sentenced consecutively to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail for the DWI refusal charge all of which is stayed for four years. He has been placed on four years supervised probation and must pay a $50 fine.

Mary Rene Quinn, 22, of Bemidji was granted a stay of adjudication for fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and convicted of fourth-degree DWI. Quinn was sentenced to 30 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail for the fleeing charge of which 28 days are stayed based on the condition Quinn completes and passes school courses. Quinn has been credited with two days time served. She has been placed on five years supervised probation upon successful completion will result in a dismissal of the fleeing charge. Quinn was sentenced to 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail for the DWI charge all of which is stayed for two years. She has been placed on two years court probation and was ordered to pay a $500 fine, which is stayed until Aug. 3, 2017, based on her completion of one year of school courses in the next two years.

The following cases were heard Aug. 4 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

William Joseph Garbow, 31, of Deer River was convicted of felony fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine and gross misdemeanor giving a peace officer a false name. Garbow was sentenced to 21 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility for the drug charge. He has been credited with 96 days time served. Garbow must pay a $50 fine. Garbow was sentenced concurrently to 365 days local confinement in the Beltrami County Jail for the false name charge. He was credited with 96 days time served and must pay an additional $50 fine.
