BEMIDJI -- You can learn the basics of skateboarding -- turning, balancing techniques, manuals, ollies, riding transition, board maintenance and skateboard vocabulary -- during a series of lessons in August through the city of Bemidji.
Helmets are required to participate in lessons and participants are responsible for their own skateboard. Lessons are Fridays from Aug. 14-28. Beginner lessons are 10 to 11 a.m. and intermediate lessons are 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Cost is $18 per participant.
