Charles Richard (Dick) King, 78, of Lillian, Ala., formerly of Cass Lake, died on Monday, Jan. 29, 2007.

A memorial service is planned in the summer in Minnesota.

He was a graduate of Cass Lake High School and attended Hibbing Jr. College. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1948 until 1954. after being discharged from the Army, he became a body shop manager for 35 years at Kay Motors in St. Louis Park, Minn. After his retirement and moving to Alabama, he became a realtor in Baldwin County.

He is survived by his wife, Joann King of Lillian; former spouse, Barbara Johnson King and their children, Elisabeth Bellos of Crystal, Minn., Jeffrey C. (Muriel) King of Maple Grove, Minn., Scott D. (Kim) King of Champlin, Minn., and Charles L. (Ana) King of Kennesaw, Ga.; step-children, Grant A. (Tracey) Nierling of Marietta, Ga., Taylor D. (Susan) Nierling of Cumming, Ga., and Joel C. Nierling of Silver Creek, Ga.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Vera King.
