BEMIDJI-A Cass Lake woman was injured early Tuesday when she apparently fell asleep while driving and ran her vehicle off the road and into a swamp, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
According to the patrol's report, Della Jones, 61, was northbound on state Highway 371 in Cass County at about 4:19 a.m. when her 2011 Chevrolet Impala left the road and went into the ditch. The report said Jones may have fallen asleep while driving. Jones was transported to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
There were three juvenile passengers in the vehicle who were not injured, the patrol said. The Cass County Sheriff's Office assisted the patrol at the scene.
