The Cass Lake Fire Department has been working to raise funds for new equipment and gear, most recently focusing their efforts on raising funds for equipment on the new fire truck that is expected to arrive in December. In 2014, the department raffled off a large ice fishing house, and they’ve been active at the annual summer celebration in Cass Lake selling T-shirts and ice cream and at the Chamber’s big Winter Fishing event and others they have also sold T-shirts and tacos in a bag to raise funds. The department recently received an equipment grant from the George W. Neilson Foundation for $60,000.
