Cass Lake-Bena and Bagley have received No. 1 seeds heading into Minnesota high school boys basketball post-season play this week.

Section 6A-East

Cass Lake-Bena will open play on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Park Rapids against No. 8 Hill City.

No. 4 Laporte meets No. 5 Nevis at 8:15 Thursday at Park Rapids. Quarterfinal games Thursday at Nevis match No. 2 Verndale against No. 7 Menahga at 6:30 and No. 3 Northland against No. 6 Sebeka at 8:15.

The semifinals are scheduled Saturday at 6:30 and 8:15 at Park Rapids, and the championship game will be played at 7 p.m. March 14 at Park Rapids.

The 6A-East winner will meet the 6A-West champion at 7 p.m. March 17 at Concordia in Moorhead, with a state tournament berth on the line.

Section 8A-East

Play begins in Bemidji on Thursday. Quarterfinals at Bemidji High School match No. 1 Grygla-Gatzke against No. 8 Red Lake Falls at 6:30 and No. 4 Northome/Kelliher against No. 5 Fertile-Beltrami at 8.

Quarterfinals at Bemidji State University match No. 2 Clearbrook-Gonvick against No. 7 Red Lake County Central at 6:30 and No. 3 Fosston against No. 6 Win-E-Mac at 8.

Semifinals are scheduled Saturday at Thief River Falls and the final March 14 at Thief River.

The 8A-East winner will meet the 8A-West winner at 7 p.m. March 17 at Thief River Falls, with the winner qualifying for state.

Section 8AA-North

Top-seeded Bagley will host No. 8 Crookston on Thursday at 7 p.m. Other quarterfinals that night have No. 5 East Grand Forks at No. 4 Warroad, No. 6 Mahnomen at No. 3 Walker-Hackensack-Akeley and No. 7 Roseau at No. 2 Red Lake.

The tournament shifts Minnesota-Crookston for semifinals Saturday night and the final March 14. The North winner will meet the South champion for a trip to state at 7 p.m. March 17 at UMC.
