ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bemidji State University placed 17 student-athletes on the 2005-06 Winter Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, announced by the league office recently.
BSU's 17 representatives on the 136-member team. Wayne State College took home top honors with 24 recipients.
Bemidji State placed eight women's indoor athletes, seven men's indoor track athletes and a pair of women's basketball players on the 2005-06 winter team. Nicole Friend was a double winner as a member of the women's basketball team and the women's indoor track and field team.
To be eligible for the Academic All-NSIC Team, a student-athlete must maintain a grade-point average of 3.20 or better, be a member of a varsity traveling team and have reached sophomore academic standing at his or her institution with one full year completed at that campus.
