Broncos retain Little Amik boys title

The International Falls Broncos retained their Little Amik-I boys track title Tuesday, dominating the 15-team field from the start.

The winners piled up 117.5 points to 64 for Roseau with Bagley/Fosston third at 51. Park Rapids and Deer River rounded out the top five.

The Bemidji JV tied for ninth with Wadena at 36. Clearbrook-Gonvick was 11, WHA 13 and Nevis 14.

Eric Asfeld of Wadena won MVP honors winning the hurdles, 200 and 400.

Ted Rud of New York Mills claimed the long jump and triple jump to be the only other double winner.

For Bemidji, 14 points came on a 2-3 from Dan Sorby and Grant Stevens in the hurdles.

Jake Brown took third in the 3200. Jared Davis was sixth.

The Jacks were fifth in the 4 x 4 and sixth in the 4 x 8.

Tristan Dockendorf was third in the pole vault clearing 10 feet.

Bagley/Fosston's top finish was a win in the 4 x 2 relay. Brandon Dyrdahl tied for second in the high jump. Luke Knutson was third in the long jump.

The next indoor meet is tomorrow with the 11th running of the Paul Bunyan Express. That meet will open at 3 p.m.
