Brian Chaz Caroline completed this phase of his journey due to cancer (alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma) in Clearwater, FL. Dubbed the "Samurai," he led a courageous battle against a very aggressive adversary extending his time well beyond initial projections.

He graduated from high school and college in Bemidji, MN with a BA in English, Emphasis Creative Writing and a Minor in Philosophy. He moved to Florida in 2002 to get away from the snow and cold temperatures. His joys in life were spending time with family and friends, an avid guitar player he loved several types of music, reading with a deep interest in philosophy, watching movies, the Simpsons and followed Boxing and other sports. His wife setup blog sites for him and his intuitive, humorous and insightful writings were an inspiration to all. Through the bleakest of times he remained undaunted in his logic and realism. He was aware of the importance and connections of life to the transition of death.

He is survived by his wife Anastasia Caroline Clearwater, FL; father Kevin Caroline (Lynn Henry) Bemidji, MN; mother Marie Steidl (Steve) Whitefish, MT; brother Travis Caroline (Jamie Randall) Clearwater, FL; and sister Sarah Steidl Whitefish, MT; maternal Grandfather Tom Smith, Poplar, MT; paternal Grandmother Patricia Caroline, Donnybrook, ND and several step siblings, cousins, uncles and aunts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bemidji State Park Picnic Shelter on March 29th from 1-3 p.m. for all family, friends and acquaintances.

He will be deeply missed but not forgotten. His writings will continue to inspire others to live life to the max regardless of what challenges lie ahead.
