Bradley Charles Schummer, 46, of Bemidji, died on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer since August 2006.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji. There will be a time to share from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.
He was born on June 8, 1960, to Charles and Bonnie (Rose) Schummer, in Bemidji. He grew up in Bemidji and attended J.W. Smith Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1978. He worked at Kmart as a mechanic. He married Kimberly Williams on Oct. 4, 1980, in Bemidji. He worked for the Great Lakes Gas Transmission Pipeline from January 30, 1981 to Oct. 3, 2003. He was also a self-employed carpenter.
He enjoyed cooking, camping, gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of Bemidji; daughter, Shannon (Justin) Blake of San Clemente, Calif.; son, Derek Schummer of Fort Hood, Texas; parents of Bemidji; sister, Jodi (Mike) Lindsey of Bemidji; two nieces, two great-nieces and one great- nephew; and maternal grandmother, Doris Rose of Bemidji.
