The Win-E-Mac and Fosston boys basketball teams advanced to the semifinal round of the Section 8A East Subsection playoffs Saturday at Bemidji High School.
Win-E-Mac, the No. 4 seed, defeated No. 5 seed Blackduck 68-50 and will advance to face Cass Lake-Bena on Tuesday in Thief River Falls.
Also advancing to Tuesday's play at Thief River Falls is No. 6 seed Fosston, which upset No. 3 Red Lake County Central and will play Red Lake at 8:15 p.m.
Win-E-Mac was led by thetrio of Joe Goulet, Chandler Burns and Jarin Bjerke. Goulet had four 3-pointers and finished with 20, Burns had 17 and Bjerke finished with 16.
Blackduck finished the game with two players in double figures scoring. Trapper Goltz had 13 points and Jon Bennett added 12. Brett Miller scored 8 for the Drakes, Ross Cardenas 6, Josh RedDay 6, Jacob Lien 2, Todd Kallroos 2, Nathan Peterson-Menefee 1.

Win-E-Mac improved to 16-9 overall and Blackduck ends the season at 14-11.
Fosston was able to defeat Red Lake County Central in the second half after the two teams entered halftime tied at 28.
Jesse Defrang was he hero for Fosston, scoring 27 points on nine field goals, two 3-pointers and three free throws. Steven Lyseng added 16 for Fosston, which improved to 11-15 with the victory.
Steven Morinville had 13 for RLCC, which ended the season 16-10.
In the Section 8A West Subsection at the Thief River Falls, Badger/Greenbush-Middle River, Stephen-Argyle, Fertile Beltrami and Warren-Alvarado-Oslo advanced to the semifinal round.
No. 1 seed BGMR dispatched Kittson County Central 71-60 and No. 5 Stephen-Argyle defeated No. 4 Grygla-Gatzke 85-75. No. 3 WAO defeated No. 6 Marshall County Central 81-69.
BGMR will face Stephen-Argyle at the University of Minnesota-Crookston Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. Fertile-Beltrami plays WAO at 8:15.
