"We played our best all around game of the season. Shot the ball well and played good team defense," said Blackduck head boys basketball coach Grant Mistic about their 73-60 win against Clearbrook-Gonvick, Jan. 20.
"Clearbrook-Gonvick had a record of 8-2 and is the number one rated team in our section," he said.
Four Drakes put double digits on the board with Brett Mistic leading with 21 points. Josh RedDay had 18 points, Todd Kallroos had 16 and Ross Cardenas added 11. RedDay dominated other numbers with nine rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Jan. 26, the Drakes took on Laporte, beating them 75-41 to bring their season record to 10-7.
"We played well and got off to a 10-0 and 20-2 start," said Mistic. "We got good minutes from a lot of kids and played with good intensity."

Scoring for the Drakes were Kallroos with 17 points, five rebounds and five steals; Mistic with 14 points, two rebounds and four assists; RedDay with 13 points, three rebounds and three assists; Steven Sunell with 10 points and five rebounds and Cardenas with six points and one rebound.
Also adding points for the Drakes were Nick Liapis with five points and two rebounds; Jacob Lien with four points and five rebounds; Ryan Tjepkes with four points and three rebounds and Chantz DeJean with two points and two assists.
Others contributing to the Drakes win were Alex Lossing with three rebounds, Logan Oelke with a rebound, Charles Biberg also had a rebound and Tanner Glynn had two rebounds.
