Bemidji Middle School's Speech Team performed well at their first meet of the year on Feb. 4 in Blackduck.
The team of 39 BMS students competed.
Students receiving blue ribbons were Tessa Johnson, Colin Richards and Lyla Evje; red ribbons winners were Kate Loxtercamp, Peri Lapp, Cassidy Morris, Amber Rassler, Olivia Harris, Matt Roberts, Monica Wittner, Shyanne Kaml, Mark Switajski, Jeffrey Wisdom, Brian Mason, Tanner Robare, Jack Will and Erik Sorensen; and white ribbons were Delaney Rietvold, Tessa Grantier, Eva Froehle and Haley Julin.
The next meet will be in Cass Lake Thursday, Feb. 11.
