The Bemidji High track teams made history Saturday, retaining their titles at the 13th annual Paul Bunyan Invitational at BSU.
It was the fifth title for the girls and fourth for the boys but only the second time they claimed the crowns in the same year.
Neither was pressed with the boys winning by 113 points over Hibbing and the girls topping the Bluejackets by 50.
The weekend meet attracted only eight teams plus some individual runners who failed to score.
Bemidji won by force of numbers.

In the boys division, the Jacks won seven individual events and two relays but piled up points repeatedly in almost all 15.
Jake Sorby captured MVP honors, winning the 400, 800 ad 4 x 4 relay.
Nate McGriff was close behind taking the 55 and 200 and running a leg on the 4 x 2 relay. Each scored 22½ points.
Other winners were Zac Oelrich in the 3200, Tyler Phillips in the high jump and Casey Orgon in the shot.
Bemidji went 1-3 in the 55, 1-3-6 in the 200, 1-2-3-4 in the 400, 1-4-6 in the 800, 2-3-4 in the 1600 and 1-4-5 in the 3200.
They even had multiple placings in the relays with the 4 x 2 going 1-6 and then 4 x 4 1-4-5. The 4 x 8 finished third.
In the field, the Jacks went 1-2 in the high jump, 3-4-6 in the long jump, 2-3-4 in the triple jump and 1-6 in the shot.
Girls roll as well

The girls were equally as efficient.
They had winners in Abby Hendricks in the hurdles and the 4 x 4 and 4 x 8 relays but piled up points consistently.
Analisa Huschle won MVP honors for the second straight meet. The Bagley/Fosston star claimed the high jump, triple jump and 55 meter dash for 30 points, more than half of the Flyers total.
Missing Lexi Gauwitz to an ankle injury, Bemidji was blanked in the sprints but went 2-3 in the 400-, 2-3-4-6 in the 800, 2-3-4 in the 1600 and 3-6 in the 3200 with Tessa Comstock fourth and Ali Hougen fifth in the hurdles behind Hendricks.
Bemidji also went 3-5 in the 4 x 2 and 1-3 in the 4 x 8 relays.
It went 2-6 in the long jump,. and 2-4 in the pole vault while scoring one place in the high jump, triple jump and shot.,
The final indoor meet will be Tuesday, the Little Amik-II with both Bemidji teams planning to run mostly JV performers. The outdoor opener is April 8 at Fergus Falls.
