Bemidji's municipal liquor stores will undergo renovations this year.
The Bemidji City Council voted 6-0 Monday evening to spend $33,039 to repair flooring, countertops, restroom facilities and make some other changes. Councilor Barb Meuers was absent.
"It's been several years since any improvements have been made at the liquor stores," said Finance Director Ron Eischens.
The south municipal liquor store is about 15 years old and the north liquor store is more than 30 years old.
"It really amounts to a facelift for each store," Eischens said.

The liquor stores were budgeted for $30,000 worth of repairs for 2010, but about $12,000 was already spent to replace the glass entrance doors at the south location.
The remaining balance for the repairs will come from liquor store reserves.
