Nearly two weeks after a custodian found a note, hand-drawn map and list of names of students and staff at Kelliher School, law enforcement has arrested two more students in connection with the findings.
A follow-up investigation led to the arrest of two young teenage girls Friday morning at the school, Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp said. The girls are the second and third Kelliher School students arrested in connection with the items found Feb. 26 at the school.
On Feb. 27, the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office arrested a 13-year-old boy at the school who allegedly prepared the note, map and list of names, which were interpreted as a threat to attack students and staff at the school. He was charged with the offense of terroristic threats Feb. 28 in a delinquency petition in Beltrami County District Court.
Hodapp said information regarding the arrest of the two girls is being forwarded to the Beltrami County Attorney's Office for review.
Kelliher Superintendent Terry Bartness noted that the school continues to take measures for student and staff safety.

"While the investigation of this incident continues, it appears to be coming to an end with the recent arrests," Bartness wrote in a letter to parents Friday. "Rest assured that the Kelliher School District takes the safety and well-being of its students and staff very seriously. It has taken timely and appropriate action with respect to all students involved."
The superintendent is urging parents not to send any students to school before 7:30 a.m.
"The doors are locked before 7:30 a.m.," said Bartness, noting that there are people stationed to greet those coming to school from 7:30-8:30 a.m. "The doors are locked again at 8:30 a.m."
People wishing to enter the school after 8:30 a.m. must use the buzzer at the high school doors to be recognized and allowed to enter the building.
