Ann Louise Nelson, 82, of Bemidji, and formerly of Buhl, Minn., died on Wednesday, March 22, at MeritCare South in Fargo, N.D.

A memorial service will be held at a future date. A private burial of the ashes will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl. Range Funeral Home of Hibbing assisted the family with arrangements.

She was born on July 1, 1923, to John and Barbara (Molick) Gorsha, in Hazard, Ky. At an early age she moved with her family to Buhl, where she attended school and graduated from Martin Hughes High School.

She married William C. Nelson and they made their home in Buhl. Her husband died in 1979. She continued to live in Buhl until 2003, when she moved to Bemidji.

She was primarily a homemaker and was known for her generous hospitality, sharing her baked goods and cooking with family and friends. She was an avid reader and library supporter all of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Don) Sells of Park Rapids; son, Jeff (Vicky) Nelson of Virginia; sisters, Nancy Most of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Betty (Ted) Magnan of Bemidji; brother, John (Kim) Gorsha of Buhl; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
