WASKISH -- A 68-year-old man who had been reported missing on Upper Red Lake was found alive and well Wednesday several hours after a search began for his whereabouts.

Michael Rosdahl of Clearwater, Minn., reportedly drove into Rogers on Red Lake Campground at about noon on Wednesday after he was reported missing earlier in the morning. The campground is located approximately 60 miles north of Bemidji on Upper Red Lake. Beltrami County Chief Deputy Ernie Beitel said it was not immediately clear where Rosdahl had been during the time of the search.

Rosdahl was reported missing at about 6:30 a.m. when his fishing partner, who is a relative, couldn’t locate him. Prior to being found, Rosdahl had last been seen around 2 a.m.

A search airplane was dispatched at dawn to scan the lake. A U.S. Border Patrol helicopter also had been dispatched to search the area. In addition to searching the lake surface, investigators began searching other areas as well, such as area hotels, resorts and Rosdahl’s home.
