Man killed in two-vehicle accident in Guthrie Township
GUTHRIE -- A 26-year-old Oakdale, Minn., man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on on U.S. Highway 71 south of Bemidji in Guthrie Township.
According to a Minnesota State Patrol report, a 2002 Subaru driven by Michelle Farlee, 23, of Park Rapids, was traveling northbound on Highway 71 at 8:22 a.m. when it lost control and crossed the centerline. The vehicle was then struck broadside by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Roger Proulx, 67, of Bemidji, who was traveling south near the intersection of Highway 71 and Hubbard County Road 118.
The victim was a passenger in the Subaru. More information is expected to be released Wednesday evening. Both Farlee and Proulx were wearing seat belts, and were taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the report said.
