Minnesota secretary of state candidate, manager injured at parade
CARVER, Minn. -- A Minnesota secretary of state candidate and his campaign manager were injured after being thrown from a parade float Sunday, Sept. 9, in Carver, a tweet from state Rep. Jim Nash said.
John Howe said in a tweet Sunday night he suffered road rash and had 14 staples in the back of his head and was “very stiff and sore.”
His campaign manager, Tim Droogsma, said on Twitter that the 2,800-pound trailer ran over him.

Both men tweeted pictures of themselves recovering in a hospital.

“Campaigning can be difficult some days,” Howe tweeted. “Keep the Faith!”
The incident happened during Steamboat Days.
