November 16, 2009 -- Northern Township has asked the Bemidji City Council to form a committee to consider the future of Northern Township Park. The 7-acre Northern Township Park, located on Algoma Street Northwest, is within the ring of properties eligible for annexation. Discussion has focused on whether Northern Township should be compensated for the park.

November 16, 1994 -- Happy birthday, Beltrami County Board of Commissioners turns 100 years old. To celebrate the centennial of the County Board, commissioners dressed like the original board of three commissioners, appointed in 1894 by Gov. Knute Nelson. Commissioners decided on the characterizations as a way to celebrate the anniversary.

November 16, 1969 -- A new gutter system is the finishing touch on the Beltrami County Welfare Building (Carnegie Library). A leaking roof caused the plaster on the walls to peel. The renovation project cost the Welfare Department $2,200. The City owns the building but leases it to the Welfare Board for $1 a year according to Welfare Director Charles Melberg.

November 16, 1919 -- "Moving time" for the City of Bemidji has commenced into its splendid remodeled city building and a general polishing of shoes, clean collars and slick combed hair, while a general absence of whiskerinos will be noticed. Contractor George Kreatz transformed the dilapidated old structure on plans drawn by the architectural firm of Roberts & Funk.
