Bemidji airport lands $1.7 million federal grant
WASHINGTON—The Bemidji Regional Airport Authority will receive a $1.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, officials announced Wednesday.
The office of U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn., said Wednesday that five regional airports—Bemidji, Detroit Lakes, Long Prairie, Thief River Falls and Winsted—had received federal grants for infrastructure upgrades and improved safety operations.
The Bemidji airport will use the funds to buy an aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle, the release said. Additionally, some of the grant money will go toward the rehabilitation of an airplane apron.
