You can’t outrun winter, but we tried.
During October and into November, we ran and ran, but the cold weather caught up to us. But that’s OK, it’s another factor in what makes living in Bemidji special. And Pioneer photographers Jillian Gandsey and Jordan Shearer were there to capture the images.

4/4: Mary Meadows, from Pensacola, Fla., crosses the finish line of the half marathon with an American flag on Oct. 14 for the Blue Ox Marathon at the Sanford Center. Meadows is in the 50 States Marathon Club and the Blue Ox was her 49th. She will run her 50th next week in Baltimore, Md., and will have finished in less than two years.
