From the annual Dragon Boat Festival to the County Fair to activism in the streets, crowds thronged outside in August to catch the last glimmers of summer before it disappeared.
They cheered, they chanted, and they made sure their goats were looking good for the judges. Pioneer photographers Jordan Shearer and Jillian Gandsey jumped from one gathering to the next, catching as many of those moments as possible, as well as a few in between.
