BEMIDJI — Headwaters Music and Arts will host a Rock Band Boot Camp for young musicians from 1 to 4 p.m. July 25-29, at Headwaters, 519 Minnesota Ave. NW.
Youth ages 12-18 with at least one to two years of experience playing drums, guitar, piano or voice will learn by playing along with teachers and fellow students with the goal of performing on a live stage, a release said.
Led by local musicians Lisa Dixon, NikkiLee Nolden and Annalise Aakhus, with special guests Caleb Erickson and Corey Medina, this camp will cover everything from chord progressions, counting bars and song sections to exactly how gigging musicians communicate and come alive with their fellow bandmates in a live setting, the release added.
"This will be a fun and exciting chance for aspiring performers to learn the basics of playing rock and pop music," the release said.
The cost to attend is $150 per participant with limited financial assistance available. Space is limited so advance registration is required.
