BEMIDJI — Gallery North will host an open house reception from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at Gallery North, 310 Fourth St. NW.

Lori Sorsoleil will be the featured artist. She and her husband found their first agate many years ago but it was not until the 80's that she really got into beading. She loves to create unusual jewelry, matching a piece with different colors of beads to find the right combination, a release said.

Many of her pieces are created from items found on a beach or at places that sell rocks. She does most of her own polishing and finds it fun to polish what seems to be just a plain stone but then uncovers a myriad of colors under the surface, the release said.

All are welcome to the event free of charge. For more information visit .

Our newsroom sometimes reports stories under the byline "Pioneer Staff Report." This byline is used when reporters rewrite basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as an email or press release that requires little or no reporting.

Other times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
