BEMIDJI — A program featuring masterpieces performed by Piatigorsky Foundation artist Jack Sanders on classical guitar is set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in BSU's Thompson Recital Hall.
"For over 32 years, the Piatigorsky Foundation’s commitment to artistic excellence and public outreach has fascinated many avid concertgoers as well as curious first-timers," a release said. "It is this combination of complimentary access, flamboyant performances and human warmth that makes Piatigorsky Foundation concerts so appealing to diverse audiences."
This year, the foundation resumes in-person concerts and returns to Minnesota with a tour that will visit Arlington, Cook, Bigfork, Silver Bay and Plymouth in continuing its mission to increase awareness and appreciation of classical music in communities throughout the state, the release added.
Solo guitarist, chamber musician and teacher, Jack Sanders’ performances have taken him all over the country. He is also an accomplished luthier and builds classical and flamenco guitars, as well as historic reproductions of vihuelas, baroque guitars and 19th Century instruments.
