NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bemidji City Council will meet in the Council Chambers of City Hall 317 4th Street NW, Bemidji, MN on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, to consider the following:
APPROVAL OF SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION TO THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT-COVID 19 TO RETROFIT BUILDINGS FOR USE AS SHELTERS TO BENEFIT HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS IN ORDER TO PREVENT, PREPARE FOR AND RESPOND TO THE PANDEMIC
At this hearing the City Council will seek input from the public on the City’s proposed covid-19 response efforts, particularly focusing on the needs of low and moderate-income households. All questions and comments from interested citizens are welcome. If you need any type of accommodations to participate in the meeting, please call 218-759-3570 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
Such persons to be heard with regard to this matter should be present at this meeting. In accordance with the requirements of Minn. Stat. Sections 13D.015, 13D.021, and 13D.04, the Mayor of the City of Bemidji has determined that an in person meeting is not practical or prudent because of a health pandemic and Peace Time State of Emergency, declared under Chapter 12 of the Minnesota Statutes; has been determined that the physical presence of the governing body, staff and members of the public is not feasible; and that some or all of the City Council members may be participating by telephone or other electronic means; that any person wishing to participate in the public hearing may do so via telephone or video conferencing (Webex), or submitting written comments prior to the hearing via mail, email (cityclerk@ci.bemidji.mn.us) or dropping off at City Hall, 317 4th Street NW, Bemidji, MN by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021.
