RAILBANK
The State of Minnesota, acting through its Commissioner of Transportation on September 22, 2020, has determined that the sale of a section of rail bank in Bemidji, Beltrami County has no adverse effect on the rail bank corridor.
The cash sale of a 6,693 sf piece of rail bank property to Beltrami County is deemed consistent with the preservation of the rail bank corridor. This notice is published pursuant to Minnesota Statute 222.63, subd. 3, and Minnesota rules 8830.5820 and 8830.5840.
The state reviewed the need for the sale and solicited comments to the proposed sale of a small strip of the rail bank.
A virtual public meeting was held on Thursday, August 20, 2020, where no comments were received during the 30 day public comment period, which ended on September 21, 2020.
The requested section of railbank is located in Bemidji, Beltrami County. The county requested the State to sell this strip of rail bank for use on a road project at the intersection of CR57 (Sumac Road) and Sandpiper Road. The State plans no conditions on the sale to the county. The consideration for the sale will be $1,000.00.
