INVITATION FOR BIDS
Bids will be received for the Lincoln Elementary School Reroof project 2020, 1617 5th Street NE, Bemidji, MN 56601. Removal of Existing Roofing System and with inspection of substrate condition prior to installing a new Roofing System with associated flashing over THE ENTIRE AREA of the school roof. Approximate area is 63,700 s.f., contractor to verify. The contract will be with Bemidji Independent School District #31, Bemidji, Minnesota, herein after referred to as the OWNER. The Owner’s representative will be Mike Jessen. PLANS WILL BE AVAILABLE BEGINNING February 6th, 2020 from the office of Lucachick Architecture, Inc.
A mandatory Pre-Bid Walk-through will take place at the School on Thursday, February 13th, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. Only bids from those attending will be accepted.
Bids will be RECEIVED UNTIL 2:00 P.M. (Local time) Thursday, February 20, 2020, at the Office of the Owner at 502 Minnesota Avenue, Bemidji Minnesota 56601. Emailed bids will be allowed, providing hard copies are received not later than 72 hours following the bid opening. The BID OPENING WILL TAKE PLACE PUBLICLY. BIDS WILL BE AWARDED WITHIN 14 DAYS. Written proposals will be received, in duplicate, as indicated on the BID PROPOSAL FORM.
Proposals shall be submitted on exact copies of the proposal forms in the specifications and shall be accompanied by a bidder's bond, certified check, or cashier's check in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, conditioned that if the contractor’s bid be accepted and the contract awarded, within ten (10) days after notice of award will execute and effect a contract in accordance with the terms of the bond and provide a PERFORMANCE & PAYMENT Bond in the full amount of the BASE BID contract, as required, made payable to the OWNER. EACH proposal shall be accompanied by a PERFORMANCE & PAYMENT Bond.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the following locations until bid opening time: ARCHITECT - Lucachick Architecture, Inc., 481 Mag Seven Court, Suite #9, Bemidji, Minnesota 56601-0219, Phone: (218) 759-2305, and the office of the Owner. Bids received from Bidders who are not recorded as having received the Bidding Documents will not be opened. Only Full sets of Plans and specifications will be distributed. They may be obtained by bidders only for their personal use from the office of the Architect upon receipt of a refundable deposit check of $10.00 per set. Requests for plans by mail must be accompanied by a $10 non-refundable deposit to cover expenses. Make all deposit & expense checks
payable to: THE OWNER.
Plans and specifications shall be returned to the Architect IN COMPLETE SETS within ten (10) days after contract award FOR RETURN OF DEPOSIT. All bids shall be in accordance with Bidding Documents prepared by Lucachick Architecture Inc., 481 Mag Seven Court, Suite #9, Bemidji, Minnesota 56601 and the consultants listed. Bidders must carry Minnesota Worker's Compensation insurance and conform to all governing laws of the State of Minnesota. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any informalities in bidding, and to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in the discretion of the OWNER, their interest will be best served thereby. THE OWNER REQUIRES THAT ALL BIDS BE FIRM FOR FORTY-FIVE (45) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF BID OPENING. ANY BID WITHDRAWN IN THAT TIME PERIOD WILL SACRIFICE THE BID SECURITY.
