Notice is hereby given that sealed Bids will be received by the Board of Commissioners for the Cass Lake Housing & Redevelopment Authority, Cass Lake, Minnesota at the Office of the Executive Director, at the Four Seasons Apartment building, 225 First Street NW, PO Box 397, Cass Lake, MN 56633, until 1:30 P.M. Local Time, on THURSDAY, APRIL 23, 2020, for IMPROVEMENTS AT 6 HOUSES; Exterior work - Removal and replacement of exterior siding, windows, equipment vents, and painting of gas piping. Interior work - Removal and replacement of vinyl floor tile, reinsulate rim joists, modification of window openings, patching and painting of gypsum board assemblies and trim work. Houses are scattered within the city limits of Cass Lake, MN.
At that time, said Bids will be carried to the Four Seasons Community Room and publicly opened, read aloud and tabled for review and subsequent action.
All bids must be prepared on the form provided by the Architect and submitted in accordance with the Instructions To Bidders (HUD-5369 and Section 002113). Bids are to be addressed to Mr. Ken Moen at the aforesaid address and are to be in a sealed opaque envelope clearly marked on the outside identifying the project name. Bidders shall indicate UNIT pricing that will be used for determining scope of work.
The Work shall conform to the Drawings, Details and Specifications prepared by MJ Architectural Studios, Inc., 1425 Paul Bunyan Drive NW Ste 4, Bemidji, MN 56601, (218)751-0109, Email: johnston.mike @mjarch.com. Bidders may obtain sets of Bidding Documents by contacting the Architect. Sets of plans are available for a NON-refundable deposit of $30.00 for each plan set, or electronically at no charge. Make checks payable to MJ Architectural Studios, Inc.
In addition, interested parties may view the Bidding Documents at no cost on the website: www.questcdn.com. Bidding Documents can be downloaded for a non-refundable charge of $15.00. Planholders are parties that have downloaded the Drawings and specifications. Planholders will be notified via email as addenda are issued. Parties that download the Drawings and specifications and need to have
them printed elsewhere are solely responsible for those printing costs. The sales of paper copies for projects listed on this site are not available. The Cass Lake Housing and Redevelopment Authority encourages small and minority owned businesses, women business enterprises and other businesses that are certified under Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968 (will employ and train low and very low income persons residing in the Cass Lake area) to submit their bids for this project.
Each bid over $25,000 must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier check, or bid bond secured by a Surety Company, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the Owner; as liquidated damages and warranty that the successful bidder will enter into and fulfill his contract and furnish the usual Bonds (Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond) as required by the Specifications within three (3) days after Notice of Award of Contract.
No bids may be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days from the scheduled closing time for receiving bids without the consent of the Owner. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or part of bids and to waive informalities therein, and to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder if in their discretion the interests of the Owner will be best served thereby.
A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 2020, for contractor’s information and questions. The meeting will commence at 1:30 P.M. at House #5 (unoccupied), 223 2nd Street NE, Cass Lake, MN. Site visit is not required for previous bidders of this project.
